Food with a view on Turks and Caicos

Sun, Sand and Savoury Food and Beverage

We recently published a detailed complete guide that helps you plan your food & drink while on Providenciales, in Turks and Caicos. There are many great options, whether you’re looking for gourmet, groceries or tasty eats, in between.

Having said that, one of the major attractions in TCI, is the water. An ocean so blue, it doesn’t seem real, with sand so white and soft, it’s what tropical dreams are made of. Combining the amazing beach scene with your meals is a must for many and it’s not surprising that travellers will want to enjoy a meal or two—or three!—right on the beach, or at least, close enough to enjoy the stunning ocean views.

Where to go?

To help you plan, and make sure you have at least a few meals with your feet in the sand, or close by, we’ve compiled a list of top spots for food with a view. Please always keep in mind, that wherever you go, you’ll be on island-time, which means having to adjust to a slower, more easy-going pace than you’re probably used to. Luckily, you’re on vacation and can sit back, relax and just enjoy the present moment. 🙂

When to go?

We believe views are best enjoyed during the day. While an evening, oceanfront dining experience is nice and romantic, after the sun sets, you won’t be seeing much. Late afternoon cocktails or lazy lunches at the beach are among our favorite activities, so here’s where we’d send you, in no particular order:

Hemingways

Ok, we know we said no favorites, but this would be at the top of our list. It’s our favorite spot for lunch! The food is affordable and tasty, you’re right next to a pool, service is friendly and the view is amazing. Most people really like their fish tacos and fish and chips. They often have islandy reggae music playing in the background, and it just has a vacation vibe. Though we don’t go as much in the evenings, notably because it’s much pricier, past guests have tried it and had a very nice time.

Somewhere Café in Turks and Caicos

Somewhere Café

Let’s start with location! It looks over a stunning reef where you can snorkel, so it can be fun to bring equipment, enjoy the water and then head on over for lunch. If you’re lucky, a live band will be playing island jams and you’ll get a spot on the rooftop deck. It has the best view! Also—and this may or may not be important to you— Somewhere Café is a casual, fun spot with tasty food, that’s especially recognized for its generosity with french fries.

The Flamingo café

Good, reasonably priced food, with a beautiful setting. No wonder it’s popular. This is a local joint with great drinks and OK dishes, where everyone can find something they’ll like. Located right on the beach, it’s friendly and very laid back with an open air vibe.

LIKE A LOCAL

The Conch Shack

How does tender cracked conch, delicious grilled grouper and must-try Mac and Cheese sound? Add rum punch and a gorgeous view! This local hang-out is right on the beach—sink your toes deep in the sand—and is the quintessential Turks and Caicos eatery. They usually have great live music on Wednesdays.

Bugaloos

Bugaloos is a beachside, local gem with a fabulous location, great drinks and amazing cracked conch. Surrounded by palm trees and endless turquoise water, it’s perfect spot to enjoy an afternoon of cold beer and conch fritters, while also being a fantastic family dining spot. Awesome spot for a relaxing lunch staring at the beautiful blue water! Great entertainment! Off the beaten path but worth the drive.

HOTEL HOSPITALITY

Infiniti Restaurant & Raw Bar at Grace Bay Club

Fun for Happy Hour, with a beautiful beach chic atmosphere. Sunsets here are perfect, but get there early, and book a spot on the deck.  The very hands-on, proud chef likes to mingle, and cooks up delicious entrées such as grilled lobster and strawberry grouper. The overall setting is romantic, with lanterns, fire pits, and multi level seating. They also have this great all you can eat BBQ, which you can read about right over here.

The Deck at Seven Stars Resort

Wonderful food, great wine and excellent service! Right on the beach inside a resort, the view is phenomenal. Great for lunch and early evening as well. What’s nice is you can enjoy sunset drink, then move on to your next spot for a more casual dinner of your choice. Note that you can book a private cabana dinner with your own waiter, music and secluded space. A lovely surprise for a special occasion.

Ocean Club Cabana Bar & Brill

This is a great place to sit by the water and eat generously portioned, great food, prepared by a talented chef. The atmosphere is family-friendly and fun and they have live music multiple nights a week. The outdoor setting couldn’t be better, right on the beach, and if you’re a key lime pie lover, well it’s rumoured to be out of this world.

Live music

If happy hour specials and live music is a game changer for you, you’ll want to consult this link for updated information on when and where you can enjoy the best bands.

There are restaurants aplenty on Provo. You’ll find venues for every taste, style, and budget. Generally speaking, we’ve put so much work into designing comfortable, beautifully appointed villas, that our guests often opt for take-out or prepare their own BBQ in their home away from home. You could also have a private chef come in and do the work for you. 🙂

Bon appétit!
