Our Resort Activities List

While water activities are a big draw for most visitors, there’s much more to discover and enjoy in Turks and Caicos without venturing into the ocean or channels. That’s why we prepared this resort activities list, featuring suggestions for land sports and activities that we can offer, book for you, or guide you to.

Hiking & Birdwatching

There are endless, remarkable coastal hiking spots on the islands. What makes it more interesting is that there are very few dedicated trails. So, visitors can often create their own new paths.
  • Middle Caicos and North Caicos have some of the most thrilling hikes
  • The rocky and wild shores of Providenciales, Salt Cay, and South Caicos also offer some stunning options
  • Wild Cow Run and Haulover Point on Middle Caicos are a must visit
  • If you seek the longest trail, consider the Crossing Place Trail. Here you can witness amazing wetlands, the highest cliffs on the isles, and the Karst limestone caves
If you love nature, you cannot miss the opportunity to engage in birdwatching. There are many spots that provide you with the opportunity to witness different bird species including:
  • Yellow-crowned night herons
  • Flamingos
  • Great blue herons
  • Reddish egrets
  • Cattle egrets
  • Green herons
  • Tricolored herons
  • Great egrets
  • Snowy egrets
  • Grebes
  • Ospreys
  • Kingfishers
  • Stilts
  • Oyster-catchers
On rare occasions, guests can also see the peregrine falcon, West Indian whistling duck, frigatebird, and rosette spoonbill. It’s remarkable that the Turks and Caicos Islands are home to over 200 bird species.

Turks Head Brewery

One of the popular land activities for White Villas guests is to go on a tour of the Turks Head Brewery. During the tour, visitors learn about the brewery’s entire grain-to-bottle process and have the opportunity to taste flavors unique to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Established in 2001, Turks Head Brewery was the first brewery on the islands and remains the only operational one to date.

  • It produces a wide range of beers including ales, lagers, pilsners, and stouts.

  • The brewery also has seasonal offerings, for example, the St. Patrick’s Day special stout.
  • Every year, over 200 brews are produced, equating to more than two million bottles.
  • The place produces its cans, bottles, and kegs in-house.
There are three daily brewery tours and they need to be booked in advance. Private party options are also available. Its beverages can also be enjoyed at the local bears and restaurants.

Quad Bike or Buggy Safari

A quad bike tour can take you off the beaten path that is otherwise not accessible to other vehicles. The routes include local towns and the nearby clifftops and beaches.
Off-road dune buggy rides are a great fun activity. Just like quad bikes, these tours also allow you to explore amazing locations. Most of the tour in this case takes place on roads that are paved. So, you can expect smoother rides.

Learn about Local Culture

While we can provide an incredible resort activities list, there’s nothing quite like connecting with local people and learning about their culture. If you love photographing or learning about different cultures, Turks and Caicos offers amazing locations to explore.
  • There are beachfront communities in all their Caribbean glory and colors in Blue Hills and Five Cays.
  • Salt Cay and Cockburn Town feature a beautiful British-Bermudian colonial heritage
  • North Caicos’ Kew and Bottle Creek feature settlements engaged in tropical agriculture

Simulator Wave Surfing

When pursuing Turks and Caicos terrestrial activities, it does not mean you cannot surf the sea. A wave simulator ride is a great adrenaline-pumping fun activity. The facility is available at the Grand Turk Cruise Center in a massive lagoon pool. The facility creates an artificial wave. The location also offers duty-free shopping opportunities and scrumptious food.

Tee at the Provo Golf Club

The Provo Golf Club regularly features in championships held in the Caribbean. The property features lush green fairways sprinkled with pine blooms, coconut palms, palm trees, and chalk-white bunkers. The course is designed by Karl Litten. You can often find yourself teeing in the company of flamingos and herons. The surrounding water bodies imitate mirrors, as the water shimmers under the sun.

This 18-hole championship course has celebrity golfer David Feherty as its ambassador. The club also features chipping and putting areas and driving nets. Visitors can also engage in some action on the course’s tennis courts.

Visit Historical Sites

Visiting historical sites is also one of the popular White Villas land activities. Some of the places you can visit include:
  • Salt Industry Remnants: The remains of Turks and Caicos’ old salt industry are there to be seen in the form of the salt evaporation ponds. The Salinas are located on Grand Turk and once used to produce sea salt. If you want to gain deeper insights into the salt-producing history of the islands, we suggest visiting the Salt House Museum.

  • Old Grand Turk Lighthouse: The Grand Turk Lighthouse is a landmark often associated with the Turks and Caicos Islands. It was constructed in 1852 on a clifftop along the northern coast of the island. It is accessible through a beautiful coastal path that offers wonderful views of the ocean.

  • Her Majesty’s Prison: This Grand Turk prison offers an insight into the Colonial past of the isles. It was constructed in the 1830s when it held half a dozen prisoners. It was later expanded to accommodate up to 50 prisoners before being closed in the 1990s.

  • Cotton Plantation: A visit to Wade’s Green Plantation takes you into a unique world of Colonial plantation that still exists. The plantation is on the North Caicos island and you can book a tour.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding is one of the best resort activities on Providenciales and is available for White Villas guests.
  • Horseback rides on our island usually include beach rides
  • You can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Turks and Caicos while going on an adventure
  • Bight Beach and Long Bay Beach are popular spots in Provo
  • Turks and Caicos ponies are known for their slightly smaller stature compared to their counterparts from other parts of the world
If you wish, your horseback rides can also take you wading through the crystal-clear waters.

Visit the Ruins of Cheshire Hall

The ruins of Cheshire Hall feature unique lichen-spotted surfaces that tend to create a sense of history. The remains are located on Providenciales and provide an insight into the high plantation boom from the 18th century.

At its peak, Cheshire Hall covered over 5,000 acres of area. You can see the:

  • Great hall in its rundown condition

  • Cotton presses
  • Old slave quarters
You can take walks around the ruins while witnessing rich, local wildlife.

Visit Chalk Sound National Park

If you love natural features, the Chalk Sound National Park is a must-visit in Turks and Caicos. There are endless limestone rock protrusions that peak above the beautiful blue waters. These rocks are in the form of bare naked stones or are covered with green grass. The Chalk Sound is officially declared as a national park.

The national park is located on the southwest tip of Providenciales. You can see the beauty of the feature by taking the twisty roadway known as the Chalk Sound Drive. The road passes through the gap between the southern shore lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. You can also see iguanas and lizards sitting atop the rocks.

Enjoy Caribbean Delicacies

Enjoying Caribbean delicacies is one of the best resort activities for our guests. Our onsite chef caters to both Caribbean and Western cuisine preferences. While our villas are equipped with kitchens for your convenience, experiencing a meal prepared by our chef is an opportunity not to be missed!

Additionally, numerous local restaurants and outdoor bistros offer unique dining experiences, from beachfronts to under twinkling stars. Options range from oceanfront restaurants and bars to BBQs and delis. It’s advisable to make reservations at fine dining establishments.

Go Shopping

Explore some amazing duty-free shopping opportunities on the Turks and Caicos Islands! There are quality branded items including jewelry, watches, clothing, perfumes, and cigars to choose from. Even when Turks and Caicos may not have such a vast list of items, you will find the island apparel, local handicrafts, and fine art pieces to be great pieces to take back home. Providenciales features many shops, galleries, and boutiques offering works by local artisans, duty-free options, and western designs of luxury goods.
  • Regent Village offers a combination of shops and restaurants
  • Salt Mills Plaza has art galleries and boutiques
  • If you want to explore sports goods and handcrafted souvenirs, visit the Ports of Call Shopping Plaza

Go for a Walk on Grace Bay Beach

The Grace Bay Beach, stretching for 12 miles, is one of the Caribbean’s longest beaches. You can go beachcombing and look for various marine life or shells.
  • The beach curves around the undulating sand banks of the northern shore.
  • It features unique mineral blue waters and the sand is dazzling white
  • The beach also has some of the most sought-after restaurants and bars on the island

You can also visit a spa treatment facility for manicures, body wraps, and makeup. Many such facilities offer mobile service, enabling you to feel relaxed in your villa.

Go for a Scooter or a Car Ride

Renting a scooter or car and going for a ride is one of the best resort activities on Turks and Caicos. It’s a fascinating way to explore the local areas, offering the freedom to roam at your own pace. Some facilities in Provo offer guided island tours, but you can also choose to venture out on your own. And don’t forget, driving on the left side, like the British, adds to the unique experience!
