Travel to Turks during COVID ? We did it!

3 american families share their impressions on traveling with their families during the pandemic

You’re tired of the confinement, the stress, the unknown and the four walls you’ve spent way too much time in over the last months. We know.

If you’re eyeing travel pics, wishing you could take off and feel some kind of normal again, we hear you. Our island reopened to the public on July 22nd and since then, we’ve hosted 3 families that said ‘YES, we need a vacation!’. We thought you might like to read about it so here’s what they experienced.

We arrived three days after the island reopened. It was a challenge for anyone who wanted to get here and took some determination, but so worth it once we arrived and took in the sea (that color!), the sun and salty air! Our stay at White Villas has been fabulous. The villa is beautiful and provided us with everything we needed. We enjoyed so many happy adventures. We snorkeled, swam, floated, paddled, jumped from a shipwreck, lounged and even hunkered down for a hurricane. We loved our boating day with Simon and Max (who created an amazing video highlighting our day on the boat). Mornings and evenings were usually spent in the pool and we cooked some delicious meals at the villa beneath the stars. We loved the sunrises, the sunsets, sweet Pina, adventurous Max, lovable Brownie – White Villas’ mascot, and Simon (who was kind and helpful with whatever we needed). We take with us memories that we will cherish forever.

We wish you well with this heavenly place you have created and continue to grow and make beautiful. Truly amazing! We hope to be back one day.

Next, we hosted Denise and her family coming from New Jersey

What made you decide on Provo for your getaway ?

This is our second time here and we were also celebrating a 50th birthday. Turks by far has the most beautiful beaches. Plus this year, a trip to such a beautiful island was very necessary. Didn’t realize it was going to be so amazing

What was travel like during COVID (airport, housekeeping, restaurants, activities)?

I must say that the procedure to get here was a bit hectic due to getting testing done at a specified timeline. However, it did make us feel safe knowing that these necessary precautions were in place. Staying in a villa was absolutely perfect for this, because it was like we were literally quarantining and social distancing without any further inconveniences. When we did go out, strict procedure was in place. Mask, hand sanitizers and temperature checks were done.

What would you say to people who are on the fence about coming over?

Getting here is not as easy due to the precautionary measures of Covid however, it does make you feel safer and the short plane ride for us and short car ride from airport to here…. you can’t beat it.

What was the best part of your villa stay?

This was a home away from home atmosphere. It was perfect for this time. Most importantly the fact that White Villas offers all the extra activities such as the car rental, boating experience and jet skis, outdoor essentials and is fully equipped with everything you need to have an amazing vacation. As we did!

And finally, Andreas’ family travelled from Florida

“ We had never been in the TCI and were looking for a good kitespot and a nice, modern house for our vacation. We came across White Villas and immediately fell in love plus the diligent and friendly response to our questions and concerns gave a great outlook to the commitment Pina and Simon have- we came as guests and feel that we left as friends.

Covid made organizing the trip more complicated and insecure, but all in the trip itself after sorting the issues out was pretty normal. We were impressed by the discipline everywhere and how people deal with the issue, we felt great and never afraid. Simon, Pina and Max helped us make this the most memorable vacation in the past 5 Years. We will be back latest next summer, but for at least three weeks! “

Andreas, what would you say to people who are on the fence about coming over?

Just do it! It will be unforgettable…
